GHYLL as a companion/pet

Like all Astra Tweed children, Ghyll is great to live with, he has that super "off Switch". He is polite and easy going, but is a bit territorial with other males. He is great educator for the puppies.

GHYLL as a working dog

Ghyll is a dog with real potential that up until now has been wasted.

Ghyll's training was going very well until I broke my leg in Jan 2008. At that time he was not the dog that anyone could work, and so when a young shepherd in need of a work dog came along in the summer 2008 I allowed him to be sold.

In the early winter 2009 I recieved a phone call from the SSPCA telling me that Ghyll was with them in a bad state. They knew about me because of the microchip, which was still his breeders name. I gave them the details of his owner but he could not be traced by the SSPCA and I was asked if I wanted him after he had served his statutary period. Of course it was YES.

He was very thin and had been scarred through fighting (we think). his training had not been advanced and who knows what had happened to him.

Anyway, I am continuing his training and enjoying every minute of it. Great to work with a biddable but powerful dog.
