Diagemtas Joe
DIAGEMTAS JOE I.S.D.S. No:00/331030

Diagemtas Just Joe is clearly a good looking dog.

He's a fabulous family dog and has now sired 3 litters of pups.

All pups from first 2 litters are in active homes including dog trainers and agility competitors.

Joe is a fabulous dog to live with, he belongs to Paula Summers.

He gives his all, whilst out but has a good off switch indoors.

He lives with 4 other collies, 2 being his daughters.

He has done some basic obedience and is currently working hard at herding skills.

This is where we are pushing him at the moment.

He is a focused dog with a strong determination. He learns quickly and loves to please.

He is a superb mix of brains and brawn.

Astra Biddy, Black Tan and white (tricolour) rough coated border collie
ASTRA BIDDY I.S.D.S. No: 00-325283

Biddy is such a sweetheart, she would not hurt a fly.

She has a super nature, is very loving but a touch sensitive/submissive,

which aids her training as she is so willing to please.

This also makes her very quick to learn.

Biddy will now retire as a breeding bitch and will be available to a special home

like a smallholder wanting a pet and sheepdog to work their sheep.

We did this mating in order to retain two puppies for further training as sheepdogs.

But we are only going to keep the one slate female.

BIDDY's SIRE:- Astra Beau (litter brother to Astra Kita and Astra Souk)

is by Brock who is litter brother to the current WORLD sheepdog CHAMPION

James McGee's BECCA.

Biddy was never planned (she was a product of a mistake mating)

However, I kept 5 puppies from that litter - still have Biddy

Her litter brother Roy has just been sold to a large hill farmer as I did not have enough work for him.

He was one very extrodinary dog, easy to train and handle with a loyal temperament..

The other pups were all sold into herding homes and are doing very well.

Biddy and her litter mates are extrodinarily good sheepdogs with gourgeous natures,

very fast and willing to please,

with naturaly ability and very easy to train on the sheep.

DNA "normal" for CEA by test

TNS normal by DNA test

IGS (B12 deficiency) carrier by DNA test

If you are going to breed from one of these puppies

it must be DNA tested for IGS as they may be a carrier.

Biddy was hip scored at 11 months of age with good hips -

unfortuanately she was too young to send the xrays for BVA scoring

I am loathe to place her under sedation in order to do her again.

Many of her close relatives have also been hip scored with good hips

If you want more information on Biddy or her sire Beau or other close relatives please ask.

Preference will ALWAYS be given (where choice is available) to potential WORKING homes (herding or competition performance sports).

It is human nature to select a puppy on looks alone.

BUT it is through our considerable experience that we advise you to take into account the puppies character in the selection process;

because selecting the wrong character is much harder to live with than the wrong white markings, coat colour or coat length.

Just because a puppy is not marked as Sold does not mean that it is still available. Puppies are marked SOLD on the website once the choice has been agreed with the new owners according to the character of the puppies (and not by their Colour or Coat) and a deposit has been received. This is usually done at 7 to 8 weeks of age.

BECAUSE

We like to place pups to the right home by Character we ask you give us your choice of three puppies in order of preference.

This is essential as we may well have several requests for the same puppy and we, of course, cannot dissect the puppy.

Your choices will always be considered and mutually agreed upon before the final choice is made.

Character develops from five weeks of age and I will be looking closely at the pups to establish which in my opinion will make the best possible dog for your requirements, and by 7 weeks of age I will have a fair idea of each pup' s character.

Therefore we make final selection between 7 to 8 weeks of age.

Regular photo updates (we try to do this once every week to ten days) and also try to include some regular video. Video's are ALWAYS placed onto my YOUTUBE page before being placed onto the website, please subscribe to YOUTUBE and make sure your settings allow for all video updated to be emailed to you. (check your spam email folder too)

Look forward to receiving your choices in order of preference.

If you want a choice of puppies at 7 - 8 weeks od age you will need to place a deposit as soon as possible once I have agreed that you may purchase one of my special puppies.

I reserve the right to refuse to sell you a puppy if, I do not think you will give them a suibable home.

I may also want you to supply references from your vet, dog training clubs etc. to help me decide on your suitability

Please read our page Book A Puppy NOW ! to see how our application process is done.

Overshot Jaw– the lower jaw does not reach proper length in proportion to the upper, the shorter it is the greater the degree of malocclusion of the teeth. A very extreme overshot bite may be referred to as “parrot mouth.”
The mode(s) of inheritance for bad bites remain unknown. Because of the complexity of the jaw structure inheritance of bad bites is likely to be equally complex. It is clear that there is no single “bad bite gene” or even a separate gene for each kind of bad bite.
Bad bites are common in Border Collies. This, in addition to their genetic complexity, makes them difficult to eliminate completely. However, breeders can lower the incidence of bad bites through selection. A dog with a bite that is undershot, disqualifying overshot, or wry should not be bred. Do not repeat breeding’s that produce these defects. The parents and siblings (full and half) of affected animals should not be bred close on either side of the affected dog’s pedigree nor should they be bred to mates with a family history of bad bites.
